MyWebMaster
LegalTerms of Service
The terms for using MyWebmaster.
Status
These terms are a draft. They are being reviewed by a solicitor and the final wording will be published here before MyWebmaster launches.
Our role
MyWebmaster is a hosting and website-building service. We do not write, check or approve the content that organisations publish on their websites before it goes live. We act on content when it is reported to us or when we otherwise become aware of it.
Before a website first goes live, we check that the organisation is genuine. This is a one-off check of the organisation, not of its content, and we do not review the website after that.
Our own templates, default images and the content of this website are prepared and checked by us. We do not vouch for content that organisations add themselves.
Content on organisation websites
MyWebmaster hosts websites and provides the tools to build them. Each organisation publishes its own content under the guidance of its own scholars and is responsible for what it publishes.
By publishing a website on MyWebmaster, an organisation agrees that:
- Videos it uploads or embeds contain no music.
- Images it publishes are modest.
- It has a parent or guardian's consent before publishing any photo of a child.
Responsibility for content
The organisation accepts full responsibility for everything published on its website, including text, images, videos, documents, events, vacancies and donation appeals, whoever in the organisation added them. The organisation agrees to follow the content terms above, and agrees that if it breaks them MyWebmaster may remove the content, take the website offline, or end or decline to renew the service.
Indemnity
The organisation agrees to indemnify MyWebmaster against any claims, losses, costs (including reasonable legal costs) and liabilities that arise from content the organisation publishes, or from its breach of these terms.
Reporting content
Anyone can report content that breaks these terms using the "Report content" link at the bottom of every organisation website, or from our report page. We review every report and keep a record of each step we take.
- Where content breaks these terms, we tell the organisation and give it a deadline to remove it.
- If it is not removed by the deadline, we may remove it ourselves or take the website offline.
- If the organisation refuses, we may decline to renew the service.
Donations
Where an organisation collects donations through its website, zakat, sadaqah and lillah are kept as separate funds. How each fund is distributed is decided by the organisation and its scholars, not by MyWebmaster.
Who we are and governing law
MyWebmaster is provided by Digital Faith Foundation, trading as Byesar. These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
